The PCGPAK2 subroutine package of iterative methods for the solution oflarge, sparse, nonsymmetric linear systems of equations includes advancedalgorithms and efficient solution strategies for numerical analysts.Without requiring specialized knowledge of algorithmic or programmingtechniques, PCGPAK2 gives the scientist or engineer the tools needed tosolve large sparse systems, even those with nonsymmetric or indefinitematrices.PCGPAK2 offers a choice of solution techniques combining basic iterativemethods (orthogonal minimization method, generalized minimal residualmethod, and restarted generalized conjugate residual method) withpreconditioning by incomplete factorizations (ILU, MILU and SSOR), plus apreprocessor. These techniques can be invoked with a single CALLstatement placed in a FORTRAN driver program.Large, sparse, linear systems of equations appear frequently in a widerange of engineering and scientific applications including aerodynamicand hydrodynamic modeling, oil reservoir simulation, ocean acoustics,simulation of VLSI circuit designs, and combustion physics.
